Mission statement
St Peter's Holy Apostolic Church is a religious organisation of Apostolic Faith with branches in Zimbabwe, United Kingdom and other countries around the world. We observe and follow the teachings, commandments, laws of God through His Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ. The organisation is an Apostolic Movement as a response to the great commission as instructed by our Saviour Lord Jesus Christ in the book of Matthew Chapter 28 verses 18-20. The objective is to preach the Word to all people and encourage them to serve Lord once they believe. We observe Saturday as our Sabbath day members of our congregation shall not do any work on this day as it shall be Holy.
Keeping one day holy in seven to the Lord is the requirement of the fourth commandment of the ten in our Holy Bible (Exodus 20:vs 2-17). As part of the moral law which was never abrogated, it remains binding until heaven and earth pass away (Matthew 5:vs 17-18). It is a binding moral obligation upon all men and institutions that believe in God. As such it is to be kept today. The fourth commandment reads in full, "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shall thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shall not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it" (Exodus 20:vs 8-11). "Remember" implies that God's people were already aware of this moral duty. Thus, keeping the Sabbath is not exclusively a Jewish institution but a creation ordinance (Genesis 2:vs 2-3).
God Himself hallowed the Sabbath, so man, in imitation of God, is required to hallow it (or keep it holy) as well. The church observes the last day of the week as the weekly Sabbath following the example of Christ, the Lord of the Sabbath. Every week of His life our Lord "went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day" which was "his regular custom" (Luke 4:16). St Peter's subscribes and believes in the trinity of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. For the progress and vision of the church, we believe in the working of the Holy Spirit and He directs us through God's servants. Thus the Holy Spirit is active and at work in St Peters Holy Apostolic Church.
Once an individual has received Jesus Christ in his or her life (salvation), we educate each other about what God requires of us through the Holy Bible and as such we hold various church meetings to create platforms through which members of the church can discuss and learn the word of God. Whilst we take all instructions from God, through the Holy Spirit, St Peters has in place an operational structure headed by the Archbishop, (Archbishop S.Rukani) through whom God founded the Church. St Peter's has ever open arms ready to receive anybody who is willing to worship God in spirit and in truth. We say there is always a place for you in St Peters regardless of race, nationality, creed or language.
